Hello, Friends! Why not join me this Saturday for a walk in La Costa that has a lot of variety. The description is below. This picture shows part of the route as it looked this past spring. The starting point is in front of Sprouts at the southeast corner of the intersection of Rancho Santa Fe Road and Camino de Los Coches. From Highway 5, exit at Leucadia Blvd and go east. The road name changes to Olivenhain Road then Rancho Santa Fe Road. After you pass Calle Barcelona, the shopping center will be on your right just before Camino de Los Coches. If you pass La Costa Blvd, you’ve gone too far. There is plenty of parking available in the Los Coches Village shopping center.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15
LA COSTA, CARLSBAD – THREE PARKS. Come out and join this approximately 5.5 mile, moderate-paced walk along the sidewalks, paths and trails of La Costa in Carlsbad. On this outing we’ll visit three neighborhood parks, one of which has adobe ruins remaining from a stagecoach stop from the late 1800s. We’ll also walk along Old Rancho Santa Fe Road – which was converted to a trail in the early 2000s – and along the Bobcat Trail, providing views of the ocean and Batiquitos Lagoon. Be prepared for stairs, hills and rocky dirt trails. Meet in front of Sprouts at 3243 Camino de Los Coches, Carlsbad, at the intersection of La Costa Ave. & Camino de Los Coches.
