Hello Friends! I have a walk scheduled for this coming Saturday in Gonzales Canyon (per details below). But if the weather forecasters are correct, there’s a high possibility for rain on Saturday. If that is the case, the hike will be cancelled. If things change and we miraculously get dry weather, I’ll let you know if it’s back on. In the meantime, I’ll try to find the positive side of all this rain for you gardeners out there and thinking about all the wildflowers we’ll be getting in the coming months.

GONZALES CANYON. Come out and hike along the trails of Gonzales Canyon in North County’s Carmel Valley. We’ll warm up with a little jaunt along the streets of the Pacific Highlands Ranch neighborhood. Then we’ll proceed on our out-and-back, moderate-paced, approximately 5-mile hike along the canyon’s trails. Be prepared for some hills. Meet in front of Trader Joe’s at 13480 Highlands Place. From Highway 56 take the Carmel Valley Road exit and go north. Then turn right on Pacific Highlands Ranch Parkway (first stoplight after Del Mar Heights Road). Turn right after Wells Fargo Bank.
