WALKABOUT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD HIKE – LITE
WE WILL DEPART AT 9:00AM. This will be an in and out hike starting at The Desert View Picnic area. We can do 6 and up to 8 miles depending on how we are feeling. Altitude gain estimated at about 500 feet. The trail has some rocky areas and some uphills so hiking poles and boots are recommended. Bring water and a snack. I think lunch is a good idea. We may or may not eat it on the trail but you might want to have it when we get back to the cars. Temperature will be in the low to mid 70s. May want to bring a light jacket. The morning may be cool.
Give yourselves enough time in the morning in case there is slow traffic due to the construction going on on I-8.
DIRECTIONS: I-8 East. Exit on Sunrise Hwy and go left. Go all the way up, past the store to mile marker 23.6. Look for the Desert View sign on the right, turn right into the parking lot. YOU WILL NEED AN ADVENTURE PASS.
