The good part is, it’s downhill on the way back! The elevation gain/loss is about 1,227 feet. The predicted temperature is in the mid to high 70s.
Boots and hiking poles are recommended. Wear sun protection! Bring a snack, lunch and plenty of water.
DIRECTIONS: From San Diego take 52 East to 67 North to Ramona. In Ramona you will take 78 North to Santa Ysabel, stay on 78 towards Julian. Make a left on Winola Rd. Keep going on Winola Rd. until you get to Farmer Rd. (notice, there are two Farmer Rds.) Go past the first one, turn left on the second Farmer Rd.. You will soon see the sign for Volcan Mountain.
