Walkabout Wednesday Lite Hike, August 31, 2022
If you received the September Walkabouts Newsletter, you probably saw there was an error on Wilderness Lite hikes: Willa will be leading on Wednesdays, as usual – not Saturdays as listed, except for September 7 – Ellen Scott will be leading then.
As the heat continues, I will rotate the various coastal hikes. This Wednesday will be at Torrey Pines.
We will leave at 8:30 AM at the entrance to the Torrey Pines North Beach parking lot on Carmel Valley Road (2099 Carmel Valley Rd, Del Mar, CA 92014). We’ll do a 7+ mile loop from Carmel Valley Road through Torrey Pines State Reserve, taking the side trails to the west of the park road, then down the Broken Hill Trail. Depending on the tide, we will either return on the beach or hike back up past Yucca Point and Razor Lookout trails.
