WEDNESDAY WILDERNESS HIKE, Standard Hike, March 23rd, 2022.
Noble Canyon-Indian Creek Trail-Pine Mountain Trail-PCT Trail hike in the Laguna mountains.
The hike will leave from the Penny Pines Trailhead parking lot at mile 27.4 on the Sunrise Highway at 8.30am.
Adventure / parking pass required.
Distance of 10.5 miles, a total elevation gain of around 1,800 ft, and a minimum average moving pace of 2.5 miles per hour.
You must be fully COVID vaccinated to come on this hike.
Mission Valley carpool, if there is one, departs at 7:30 AM. In case no one else shows up at the carpool place, you should be prepared to drive yourself.
We will take the Noble Canyon trail west from the parking area for 2.2 miles and then change and head north west on the Indian Creek trail for 2 miles.  At the next junction with the Pine Mountain Trail  the hike follows the Pine Mountain Trail north east for 2.3 miles to the Pioneer Mail Trailhead.  This area has picnic tables so a good place for an early lunch.
 The last section of the hike is 3.8 miles on the PCT going south east back to the Penny Pines Trailhead.

 Directions (I-8 to Sunrise Hwy): From I-8 East, take the Sunrise Highway to the Penny Pines Trailhead parking area at mile 27.4. There are NO toilets at this parking area.
