WALKABOUT WEDNESDAY WILDERNESS STANDARD HIKE

[Mission Valley carpool, if there is one, departs at 7:30AM. In case no one else shows up at the carpool place, you should be prepared to drive yourself.]

 

Todays hike, all on trail or dirt road, is a 10.5 mile loop with approximately 1000’ elevation gain. Beginning at Agua Dulce Trailhead in Mt. Laguna, we will hike down Los Gatos Ravine to Laguna Meadow and take the Big Laguna & Lightning Ridge trails up to Lightning Ridge for our morning snack. We will then cross Sunrise Highway to the PCT & make our way back to the trailhead via the PCT, several unnamed trails, and Agua Dulce Road. Pack snack, lunch and water. Forecast is sunny with a high of 61.

Directions: Take I-8 east to Sunrise Highway. After exiting, turn left and drive 8.2 miles to Wooded Hill Road. Turn left on Wooded Hill Road and drive approximately 3/4 mile to the Agua Dulce Trailhead. (You can also type “Agua Dulce Trailhead” into Google Maps & follow the directions from your specific location.) Adventure Pass or equivalent required for parking. Restrooms are available at the trailhead.
