Walkabout Wednesday Wilderness – Standard

Kwaaymii Point-Pedro Fages

Today’s hike — all on the PCT except for one mile on the California Riding & Hiking Trail — is 10.5 miles with 2100’ gain/1300’ loss — or vice versa — depending on whether you choose to hike mostly uphill or downhill. Gary will lead the uphill group from Pedro Fages Monument to Kwaaymii Point, while Mike L will lead the downhill group from Kwaaymii Point  to Pedro Fages Monument. When the two groups meet, drivers will exchange keys so that everyone has a way back to the morning meeting point. Pack snack, lunch & water.  There may be residual snow/ice on the trail from recent storms so good footwear is essential & hiking poles helpful.
