Walkabout Wilderness Standard Hike

Harvey Moore Circuit
Today’s hike is 10 miles with approximately 1200’ total elevation gain.
We will meet at 9 AM at the Manzanita Trailhead Parking, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
We will start with a short bushwhack from the Manzanita Trailhead into the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Visitor Center and then meet up with the East Side Trail. We will follow north on the East Side Trail to where it meets the Dyar Spring Trail and continue north .8 mile to the Harvey Moore Trail. We will walk the entire Harvey Moore trail loop of 6 miles and then connect to the Pine Trail for .8 miles. From there we will connect to the Juaquapin Trail and then back onto the East Side Trail into the Visitor Center. And finally, do a short bushwhack back to the cars.
There are toilets available at the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Visitor Center.

Directions: Take I-8 East to Route 79 North. Continue 9.5 miles to the Manzanita Trailhead Parking on your right. It is less than .5 miles after Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Visitor Center Entrance.
