WEDNESDAY STANDARD “WILDERNESS HIKE” – July 5, 2023

TORREY PINES/DEL MAR BEACHES WALK: Distance 9+ miles, 2.5 pace (with an option to shorten to 6 miles).

This walk will leave from the North Torrey Pines, North Beach restroom facilities promptly at 8:30AM 
Allow time for parking, ($20.00 for lot, street parking free)

You must be fully vaccinated to join this hike.

We’ll walk north on the beach starting at Torrey Pines North Beach to Del Mar’s Dog Beach (3 miles) then return. We will stop at Del Mar’s public restrooms near the tower and then return to North Beach for a break. Those who wish to continue our walk, will walk south on the Torrey Pines Reserve Beach to the staircase that goes up to the trails and the visitor center. From there, we will turn around and walk back to the vehicles. The full walk is about 9 miles, finishing around noon. Bring water and snack. You can decide to have lunch at the beach, a local restaurant, or return home at the end of the walk.

The beach walk begins at 8:30 AM. Weather forecast for Wednesday is Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Directions From I-5, take Carmel Valley Road exit and go west toward the beach. Parking on the street is at the junction of McGonigle/Del Mar Scenic Parkway and Carmel Valley Rd. After parking, walk into the Torrey Pines North Beach Parking lot near the restroom facilities. Parking in the lot is a $20.00 fee (paid at the kiosk) or requires a valid annual California State Parks Vehicle Day Use Pass.
