“Birthday Hike”
This hike was designed by Gail Anderson for my birthday a few years ago, when I was even younger than I am now…
10 miles, elevation gain 1100 ft. 2 stream crossings. Visit to Green Valley Falls.
9 AM start time.

This Monday’s hike is in Cuyamaca State Park. We begin at the East Mesa Trailhead, walking under a mile on the East Side Trail to the Green Valley Campground where we pick up the Pine Ridge Trail for a westerly uphill hike of about 2 miles with great hilltop views. Then, turning south, and descending, we enjoy the grasslands and oak forests of the California Hiking and Riding trail and the Saddleback Trail, making a u-turn north on the Sweetwater trail. Then we connect to the Falls Fire Road via the South Boundary Fire Road. We will visit the Green Valley Falls as we travel up the Falls Fire Road. Then we exit Green Valley Campground and trek back to the cars on the East Side Trail.
Pack lunch, snack, and water. Forecast is for a high about 70.
